A look back on 2025
The saying goes, better late then never. So here I am finally writing about the last year, the year that things took a turn for the better. At the beginning of 2025 I had made the decision to move away from the world of portrait photography so I can finally make my move into my life long goal of becoming a wildlife and landscape photographer. The decision did not come lightly, but I knew with all my heart it was what I wanted to do. I love getting to go out in the wilderness and gaze upon all the amazing creations laid out before us. And I love the freedom that comes with it. So I bought myself a new lens, and took online courses led by my one of my favorite wildlife photographer, Issac Spotts. While taking these courses, I also found another photographer on Instagram that posted how she edited her photos. These tips helped me in many ways. Not only did it help me with the wildlife photos, but unknowingly, she also helped me with portraits as well. You see, life has a funny way of putting you in a direction you never thought you would go, what I mean by that is I pictured my business heading in the direction of wildlife, like I said before. But in fact I came back around to the portrait world, and I am so glad I did. It gave me so many opportunities that I have not had in the past.
I want to take this opportunity to personally thank Maria Lopez and her family from the bottom of my heart. I believe they are the ones that hard launched me back into the portrait world. They had me do before prom pictures, graduations pictures, I even did the youngest daughters Quinceanera. From there, that opened the doors for me to be able to other sessions, such as the downtown trunk-or-treat, the goshen county 2-shot, and I even did a Christmas Mini session event that was an absolute hit. Here is where I want to thank Marie Flanagan for the 100th time for letting me have this event at her movie theater. Marie has always been a big supported in my journey, and I can not wait to work more with her in the future. She truly knows what it means to support small business.
While working on bettering myself here, I knew I still need to to focus on what I was really working towards. I entered my work into the county fair and even the state fair was was very pleased to come out a winner at both places. From here I finally had worked up the courage to start selling my work. The first sale went great, and I had other sales after that. But I still have a long way to go, to get to where I want to be, and I am not giving up. I look forward to putting more work out in the future.

As I sit here, sick at home, watching Stranger Things from the beginning, I am thinking back on the year I had 2025, full of gratitude for what the year brought me. I am looking forward to what 2026 has to offer. Happy New Year to all of my MP Photos followers and supporters. I am forever grateful for each and everyone of you.
